I heard about a year ago this house would come on the market at a million so I’m actually surprised it’s priced so low. It’s a great place — anyone else actually been in it?

There’s a house on Winslow (a block east of 99 at about 43rd) going for 1.2 million. (Or, at least it was last week.) I don’t really know how they compare, but I’m not thinking that one’s going to sell either.

@#5 That’s what happens when a house costs *$800,000* in this economy. There are quite a few in my neck of the woods that have been sittin’ around for a while, too. I feel bad for the sellers, but I think there’s gonna be a lot of vacancies in W’ford until those prices come down more than a little.

Yeah, 799k seems a bit much for that house, especially given it’s proximity to 50th street which is a parking lot on the weekends. Oh, and during rush hour.

The grass is always greener on the other side of the fence, isn’t it??
Wait, we are on the other side of the fence!
We live where the grass is greener (not the medicinal stuff, people….).
The hangouts are cooler, the ice cream is creamier, the honey is sweeter…….,
Simply, THE place everyone wants to be….

Beautiful house! Maybe one day, when my stocks and salary double, my wife gets a job, and I win the lottery – I *might* be able to afford it. Until then I guess I’ll keep renting down the street.

Bummer; I really like living in Wallingford, but there’s no way I can afford to live here long-term.

Nice house, but *799K*? Who in the dickens can afford that right now?

If we ever decide to buy a house, it’s gonna have to be pretty far away from Wallingford. Nothing is priced reasonably enough for your average working couple….
