Hello Wallingford:

I am a Real Change Vendor at QFC, 45th & Wallingford.

This is absolutely where you can go sell your drugs in front of the door, panhandle and make the customers give you their money, and sit out in front of the store to do these crimes.

I am the only vendor authorized thru Real Change to sell my paper there, as my badge clearly states.
Yet this thug in a red jacket with grey stripes with the name of Robert Rucker does the above mentioned, I am harrassed by him, threatened by him, and now he has three homeless thugs working with him, to go inside and steal like crazy from QFC.

I tried reporting this to Officer Stewart who sits in front of St. Benedicts that I had documentation of these incidents, I even went so far to take photos of these people, and tried to give them to this officer, and he said he didn't want to see them, he only wanted to see food before he got another call.

I tried a second attempt today, to give them to a second officer, who wouldnt even speak to me, and treated me like garbage, because I spoke out against Council member Tim Burgess on his foolish anti-harrassment changing ways, and I wrote an article on the police brutality of the wrongful discriminated latino video.

This is their retaliation for my speaking out, and I need help. They may hate me, will they beat the American piss out of me if they get the chance? YES, I BEIIEVE they will.

I ask for all of you to contact me and help me, as you know I am a non drinker, non smoker, non drug user, and don't want a man. So the drug dealers hate me, and the police won't protect me.
While the police in the North Precinct hate me, they leave me with no protection.
My life is in danger, and I need help.

Please contact me and look out for my safety in Wallingford. Lets don't let the drug dealers take over QFC any longer, and I need help from the public to stand up to the police retaliators in that area for my speaking out, and I bring this matter to you, so if I am found harmed/dead you can look for the thugs, and sue this police for me.

Thank You

Wallyhood - I really appreciate you following up on this issue - your report made me feel somewhat more reassured the police were doing all they could. But this morning I read an article in the PI about a Craigslist bust in Bellingham - why can the police track down Craigslist thieves in Bellingham, but not in Seattle? Certainly we operate under the same set of legal guidelines. . . .
Here is the article from the PI:

Again, thanks for your effort - Wallyhood for mayor!

Wallyhood: Thanks very much for your amazing effort on this issue. We were burglarized a month ago--a brazen thief stole the (locked) roof rack right off our car and put it up on Craigslist a week later. The burglary police gave us the same "go confront him yourself" advice that others have received. Not having West Baltimore-style muscle, we decided not to risk life or limb, and passed on the opportunity. My sense, after reading this post, is that the Seattle PD are doing the best they can with some pretty crappy resources, which eases the frustration at least somewhat. Hopefully we'll see more patrols, especially at night, in South Wallingford. Until then though I guess we'll have to look out for each other.

I miss the P-I and lament the loss of important print journalism in this country as much as anyone else, but Walllyhood is giving us more timely, pertinent, entertaining, local information than any city-wide paper could ever provide. So again, many thanks!

I work with folks in the Crime Prevention unit at North Precinct on a very regular basis and I feel very fortunate to live in NE Seattle and to get to work with Diane Horswill. She is a rock star. She is always available, insightful, empathetic and she has a great sense of humor.

Thanks for following up on all of this, Wallyhood!

I do wonder whether crime really is up (and clearly, I won't be able to find out without my own stack of printer paper), but I think the only way to get increased attention is to do as you suggest: always file a report; speak to a supervisor if you aren't happy. Sure, it might not help, but not bothering to file a report because we believe we won't get any action definitely doesn't help, and could even hinder future prosecutions and/or property recovery. Remember a few months ago when the police posted hundreds of photos of recovered items? Sometimes they really do find a stash, and having a police report on file can only help us.

Great post! Kudos to Wallyhood for following up on all our concerns and meeting with Capt. Washburn. Just the information we've all been wondering about. It's good (and discomforting) to hear the blunt realities of how our tax dollars have been spent (or more so, NOT spent) on tools that enable the police to do their jobs. At least now we have some concrete areas to talk with the city council members about. Changing the current situation is going to take more than blog posts. We've got to apply the pressure on the entities that control the dollars.
