I didn't pay much attention to this before we had our son, but there always seems to be some airplane noise in the background. Usually a dull roar of a jet heading for SeaTac, but occasionally a louder, low-flying sea plane.

One of my favorite Wallingford sounds is the gleeful sound of people sledding down Kite Hill while the rest of the neighborhood is quietly nestled inside their homes. Will there be similar sounds from the kite flying this weekend? I bet something just as pleasant!

The flicker at the top of the telephone pole on the corner of 39th and Burke, right around dawn most mornings.

My gentle alarm clock is the soft clucking of my neighbor's hens (corner of Corliss and 43rd) after they've laid another egg - a quintessential Wallingford sound!
