The corn syrup actually plays a helpful role in preventing the formation of ice crystals due to the freeze/thaw/freeze that can happen to ice cream. So if you take a pint home and maybe it gets a little soft before you stick it back in the freezer... well, don't complain if you end up with some ice crystals in your ice cream :) At a meager 1% I guarantee you will not be able to tell the difference.
