Seattle Department of Neighborhoods has three Neighborhood Matching Fund (NMF) application cycles in 2011 for community groups who want to apply for the Small and Simple Projects Fund. The deadline to apply for the current cycle is 5pm on Monday, May 9, and applicants must register online here at least two days before submitting an application.
Past awards of Small and Simple Projects Funds include the 46th Street Mural and the installation of new playground equipment at McDonald School which was organized by the “Friends of McDonald School” community group.
From the Seattle Department of Neighborhoods website:
The Small and Simple Projects Fund provides awards of up to $20,000 to support community members as they work together to build a stronger and healthier neighborhood through civic participation. Activities may be physical projects, as well as educational, cultural, and relationship-strengthening activities. Visit http://seattle.gov/neighborhoods/nmf/smallandsimple.htm to read more.
After May 9, there is one more application cycle in 2011 for the Small and Simple Projects Fund with a deadline of September 12.
