A new store called Fair Trade Winds has opened in Wallingford Center. Fair Trade Winds is family-owned, specializing in Fair Trade housewares and gifts. They’re located right next to Paron’s Closet, across from Yazdi.

Emily wrote to tell us that her uncle, Paul Cullen, owns three other Fair Trade Winds stores on the east coast. As a member of Green America, the Fair Trade Federation, and Fair Trade Seattle, the new store will carry reclaimed wood furniture, eco-friendly lighting, organic bedding, home decor, wall art and frames, kitchen textiles, housewares, handmade jewelry, woven goods, tree-free stationery, bath and body products, musical instruments, seasonal gifts, chocolate, coffee, tea, and dry goods.

The store is open Monday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., and Sunday from noon to 5:00 p.m. Phone: (206) 743-8500 E-mail: [email protected] We’ll keep you posted when they announce their Grand Opening some time in October.
