And they're trespassing to get it. I heard someone on our porch, and went to answer the door. There was a homeless man on our porch digging through our recycling bins. (We have the very old crates on the porch for fast deposits.) He picked out an (empty) tequila bottle and waved at me. I asked him to leave. He kept digging. I asked him to leave again. He asked if he could keep the bottle, and I said sure - but please leave. He did. </p> <p>You can't see the bins from the street - We have a large, gated porch with tons of foliage. He would have had to go up a driveway and several steps to get there, so it wasn't just convenience. I am wondering if he was working his way down the street.</p> <p>I didn't call the police - it really didn't seem that big a deal - but it did unnerve me that someone was just picking through things on my porch. Has anyone else encountered that?
