There’s a large dead bird – a chicken? (I’m a city boy, and not that familiar with the various flavors of fowl; besides, it’s missing its head) – just north of 40th, on 1st Ave NE, on the east side. Very close to the corner, 20 or 30 feet from the fire hydrant, if you want to go take a gander (ha!) yourself.
Two questions: Anyone missing a chicken? And, can/should I call Animal Control, or whoever? It’s been there for a few days. My dogs like it, but I’m not so keen on it.

To paraphrase my high school biology teacher, D. Petit (and/or B.B.King)….
“The bird is gone, baby…”

Thank you Rob. This is one of the things I love about this neighborhood, is that it’s a community and we look out for each other. So just to update, while the bird had started to decompose a little, it was still delicious.
Its the pleasure of al fresco dining without the messy bother of a food truck.
