I live in an apt building off Stone and we got two notices this month of an increase in prowls in our garage. The garage is open to commercial traffic during the day and locked after 10 and there is a separate locked residential section.

I have a friend who lives in a building off the Burke Gilman and they had several car prowls and thefts from their garage storage lockers in December. The thief broke in via the garage vents!

Has this been happening in other apt and condo buildings recently?

Any ideas about what we can do as a community to stop these thiefs?

Don’t forget to vote out the inept elected officials who have allowed Seattle to now have 300 too few police — yes, that’s 300. If you think city government exists to safeguard everyone in town, you’re not thinking like the people in office today.

You can also get an alarm for your car. Or live in your car at night or create vigilante rentor groups to patrol the garage.

Thursday late night, three cars on 44th, along the short block between Sunnyside and Corliss, had side windows smashed and were rummaged through. Nothing of value had been left in sight, nothing of value was stolen. I just don’t get it.
