Anybody have an update of what’s going on with the burned up shell of Kataro next to Molly Moon? Its been a blight on the neighborhood since it burned in 2011. Think the owners have had sufficient time to do something about it by now.
See previous threads…basically, the answer to your question is likely “zilch”.
OK, but didn’t the Mayor’s Find it Fix it group go by this space so he could get something done? There was new graffitti on it last I loooked.
Yes, it was brought to special attention to the mayor, with a booklet and photographs of this entire history of this cluster mess.
There are prior threads on the same topic. The owner is known, and they have had repeated offers by Molly Moon to buy this property. The owner chooses to have it remain a health hazard, safety hazard and good spot for dealing drugs. There is a history on the city website of complaints filed. It has been investigated by the city as recently as this year. Nothing seems to make any difference. Maybe a tragedy will do the trick?
So? Find it fix it was to no avail? I recall an article in this blog in whihc the owner was quoted as askign the neighborhood to be patient for a little longer about 3 or 4 years ago. has anyone had any direct contact with the owner lately?
Cathy maybe you could contact the owner and get an update to share with the rest of us? I’d be interested in hearing what you find out.
Pork Pie, I have done enough for awhile– reported graffitti 5 times and got grocery carts moved from in front of Zaw. I am a temporary rentor. It’s time for another to follow up on this- I talked about it w/ Find It Fix it staff which was abysmal. Marie of Roumania has time to write about peoples’ typos.. maybe she can. Or you?
Sounds like you pooped out, Cathy. Maybe take a break from posting your rants if you aren’t willing to be a solution. Anyone can complain.
Actually there has been progress.
May 15th a pre-submittal was made for a 4-story mixed-use building to contain a restaurant on the main floor and 12 residential units (7 micro units and 5 one-bedroom units).
Gabi Muller at CB Anderson Architects is the contact.
Brady – thank you for offering constructive information! I spent about one minute at that link and found the name, home address and phone number of the people who own Kitaro’s. Maybe Cathy will reconsider and give them a call!
After your last reply I am not sure she will.
No. Pork Pie has time to ask people to do things. Marie has time on her hands. The editors want story ideas. they contacted th eowner directly when we got the “be a little more patient” plea 3 or 4 years ago.
