Last week, on Wednesday 8/9, a small package did not appear on my front porch. It was delivered by UPS at 7:30pm, according to UPS. We were at home at the time, but did not hear the delivery. This is 3900 block of Burke Ave.
Has anyone had a similar non-delivery or theft from their doorway? If so, what are easy things that can be done to assure security for home deliveries of packages? I have opened a claim with UPS, but haven’t got much response.
I’ve had thefts, but I have also had phantom delivery notices from UPS, for packages that showed up even days later.
I was home sitting 10 feet from open door for a half day awaiting a large delivery from UPS. Nothing came. It was a ‘big deal” so I called sender etc.. I was guaranteed that it had been delivered. I spent a couple hour s trouble-shooting w/ UPS– turned out the new driver according to supervisor left it at Woodlawn N instead of Woodland Pk. At our apt building once a month a uPS package shows up at mailbox with address which in no way resembles ours. Mix ups happen as frustrating as they are. I spent a couple hours trying to get a package to correct owner from Zulily ( which Zulily refused or couldnt figure out how to help) & finally thru FB Neighborhood group got it to her.
There was a lazy or new ups driver that day. I got a package delivered to me that was for a house several blocks away.
Thank you frankie, cathy, and tadlin for your thoughts and experiences. Some of those ideas give me hope for retrieval. My “claim” is still under way with UPS, so I will post here about the outcome. My greatest hope is the “lazy or new ups driver” syndrome!
