High 5 Pie

Jordan Jordan February 27, 2009 1 Comment

Remember how on Twin Peaks, Agent Cooper used to order a “cup of joe and a slice of cherry pie, and it was somehow epic and transcendent? We were reminded of that reading a recent e-mail from Dani of Fuel Coffee, extolling their new High 5 Pies:

High 5 Pies are all-natural 7″ deep dish pies and handheld “Flipsides” made from my Grandma’s favorite all-butter crust recipe. Pies are a classic treat, vintage and nostalgic of simple times while being modern in their appeal to the masses. In these tough times where everyone is paring down, skipping the fads, and getting back to basics, pie is a most perfect treat….one that is great any time of day and for any occasion! As a native Seattlelite, I have literally grown up with not just the allure of the coffee bean, but the overall sense of the community it fosters as I watch people gather in coffee shops and develop their daily rituals therein. I have recently realized that pie is quite similar in its ability to bring people together: everyone has a favorite story, recipe, or memory to share…We currently feature a classic Apple Crumb, an Oregon Mixed Berry, and our Seasonal Cherry Almond Crunch…a crowd favorite.

Mmmmm…pie.

Let us know what you think if you try one.

    They’re good… but not $3.75 good.

I’m waiting for the chocolate pies too. That might make the price worthwhile.
