Neighbors Call 911 During Grammatrain Shoot

KIRO-TV reports that several neighbors called 911 last night when they heard explosions coming from Gas Works Park. Turns out Grammatrain used some pyrotechnics while shooting their video for "The Last Sound." Do you live nearby? What did you hear? Hamilton Construction Update

This month’s Hamilton Construction Update is brought to you in part by the word “accoutrement”, as in: the construction workers at Hamilton are putting in plants, light fixtures and other accoutrement on school grounds. This to me signals the beginning of the end; the light at the end of the tunnel. Hallelujah! Sock Hop

Sock Monster, the new alt-hosiery shop that slots in between Not a Number Gifts and Teahouse Kuan Yin at 1909 N. 45th St opens today with an all-day party until 9 pm. And the winner of the 46th St. Mural Project Grant is...Todd Lown! Lead artist for Urban ArtWorks, Lown holds a BFA from the University of Washington, and has studied at the School of Visual Arts in New York. Lown says his work focuses “on perspective, environment, form and color.” His works are “a combination of prints, animation, signage, drawing and painting both illustrative and abstract.”  His public art includes design and direction for the Gates Foundation construction site mural, the Bellevue…
