Don't be thrown! Wallingfor Art Walk is the first Wednesday of the month, and even though it seems strange that Labor Day is still six days off, tomorrow is the first Wednesday of the month. So what all is going down this month? Seattle Bank (1227 N. Allen Place, across from Tutta Bella) will be showing Tracy Wallschlaeger's oil paintings: "She was the recipient of both The Morris Merit Scholarship and The Little Art Gallery Scholarship for her artistic and academic…

“What Would You Say?” to free Dave Matthews tickets?

That's right, we hold in our hot and sweaty little hands a pair of Dave Matthews Band general admission tickets at the Gorge Amphitheatre this Sunday, September 5, at 6 p.m. If you're interested in going, all ya gotta do is tell us what Dave Matthews Band song or lyric best represents Wallingford and why. LoveFest! – Bandolero! – Boom! – Shop!

Sunday's offerings included 3 kinds of green beans, zucchini, cherry & stipice tomatoes, raspberries, blackberries, shallots, elephant garlic,…

Sea Turtle, in Progress

We reported on Friday that neighborhood was about to adopt a colorful turtle on an intersection close to Hamilton.  Well, here's an update, along with some photos of the nearly completed project: When I left my house at 7:30 a.m. on Saturday morning, I passed a small group of neighbors armed with brooms to prep the intersection of 41st and Interlake for its transformation. By Sunday afternoon, I was amazed by the group’s progress: a graceful sea turtle with yellow eyes,…
