Best of Seattle 2010 Roundup

I could have sworn I saw last year's category "Best Corner For Sugar Addicts" online yesterday as soon as the results were posted, but today it's no longer there.  Doesn't matter.  We know the best corner for sugar addicts is 45th & Wallingford.  And by the way, I really wish those sugar addicts would quit using sugar in the alleys & leaving the empties on the sidewalks!  Indecent! Meet Sounders’ Marshall in Wallingford

Soccer nation is alive and kickin' in Seattle. World Cup fever had folks watching games at all hours, in pubs all around town. And now the Seattle Sounders are on a four-game winning streak (did everyone see Montero and Fernandez light up the pitch on Sunday night against Houston), making them fourth in the West, tied for fifth overall in MLS, and most importantly, squarely back in playoff contention. As for their vinyl croonings, we can't say. You can consult Flickr for a view of the mural, pre-crash. * For…

It’s been seven months since we learned about Phyllis Brown’s illness and her shop's closure, and we still haven’t heard what happened, how she's doing, and if Alterations and Reweaving will ever re-open.  We’ve uncovered a few leads, hoping to report some more concrete news, but our outreach to certain parties was most unwelcome. The store remains closed and while we’ve seen various handwritten notes hinting that it might be re-opened, only faded UPS slips and Post-its from the USPS imploring…
