Wallingford Weekend

As I begin to write this post on Tuesday night, it is snowing.  Now, do I risk my credibility by assuming it'll melt with the predicted rain & 47 degree temps on Wednesday, or do I cover my ass and mention a lot of indoor activities just in case?  Hmmm. Wallingford Has Been Tagged

While most of the neighborhood was admiring the beautiful snow that fell over Wallingford last night and enjoying the peacefulness it brought along with it, an individual(s) was busy tagging 45th Street businesses with graffiti.  While venturing out this afternoon I spotted several businesses that have been tagged up and down 45th Street.  I can't be the only person who finds this act of damage appalling.  Hopefully SPD finds the culprit(s) behind the 45th Street graffiti!

Who is The Mayor of Wallingford?

Last week, reader s banarian sent us this interesting e-mail: Around 1981-83, there used to be a guy who'd take his place right outside the door to the Food Giant - he'd refer to himself as the "Mayor of Wallingford" and he was a repository of the things going on in the area. who was he really? what happened to him? So, we asked our resident historian, Paul Dorpat, who gave us this thoughtful response: Since Wallingford has never been a…
