Car-For-Bike winner, Dawn DeGroot

New Belgium Brewing's Tour de Fat rolled into Seattle on July 31, where more than 4,000 costumed bicycle enthusiasts swarmed Gas Works Park to increase awareness of cycling as a sustainable form of transportation.  The event raised $11,500 for Bicycle Alliance of Washington and Bike Works to continue bike advocacy. Scooter Hit By Truck on 38th Street

Today at 1:58pm on Bridge Way North and 38th Street, fire and rescue was responding to an accident that took place right before the Aurora overpass.  I happened to be traveling on 38th Street at the time of this accident and snapped an image of fire and rescue cleaning the scene and loading the individual into the ambulance. Pub Trivia at Blue Star

Wallingford Community Kitchen Celebrates MLK Day

Sustainable Wallingford's Rachel Duboff has given us the deets about the first Wallingford Community Kitchen of 2011. And get this: gifted chef and local cooking instructor Patrice Savery will be on hand to assist in the preparation of some truly Southern menu items.  (Yes, "Southern" is capitalized & always should be.)
