Margaret Margaret June 6, 2012 1 Comment

Wallingford-based Assistance League of Seattle has awarded $32,000 in enrichment scholarships this year to 70 students from Seattle Schools through its annual Enrichment Scholarship Program. The scholarships provide students from grades 6-11 full or partial tuition to attend summer camps at Cornish Institute, Whitman Dance, UW Robinson Center, Marrowstone Music, language camp and art, theater and outdoor programs. Xiaoyu Clements, a seventh grader from Hamilton, is going to Summer Dance at Whitman College.

10 students from Whitman Middle School who have received summer camp scholarships through Assistance League of Seattle's Enrichment Scholarship Program.

The Assistance League of Seattle is located at 1414 and 1419 North 45th St. In addition to the Enrichment Scholarship Program, AL also runs the Bargain Fair thrift shop and is a regular participant during the Wallingford Art Walk. The shop is open Tuesday through Friday, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and on Saturday from noon to 4 p.m.

That is so cool! I’ve seen their office/shops forever, but had no idea what they did. What a great investment in our future.
