A Strong 2012 Finish for the Seattle Housing Market

For the 11th consecutive month the median sale price for single-family homes sold in Northwest Seattle, including Wallingford, met or exceeded the sale price for the same period a year prior. Much of this trend can be attributed to a nearly 50% decrease in the supply of homes compared to the previous year. We got the news too late last night to call for confirmation, will call and confirm today. Michelle tells us that the Subway down on the corner of 34th and Stone Way has papered its windows up, as well. (Photo compliments of Google…

Anyone lose a Pitbull Puppy?

Update, 8:12pm: Good news! "Dude" has been reunited with his "Dad"! Meredith posted on our Facebook page last night that she found a young Pitbull in between her fence and her garage. She's taken him to a Vet up in Lake City. The vet says the Pitbull is likely 9-10 mos. old and may be a stray, though his nails are clipped short, which likely means he has a human out there somewhere. The vet will hold him one more say…

“Celebrate One Wallingford” This Thursday

Last week, we told you to save the date for “Celebrate One Wallingford” – a party to celebrate our community together, but it bears repeating because of all the cool activities that are planned for the event. One of the highlights of the evening will be an all-neighborhood-inclusive musical component, and last year, it was great fun to watch neighborhood adults and kids demonstrate their musical talents. Here's a note from the organizers (with a shout-out to folks who'd like to perform during…
