Ch-ch-ch-abela’s

Last month, Ken spotted a new restaurant, Chabela's going in where Casa Azul (and previously Serena's Guadalajara) stood on 45th Street. Today, he's got an update: An update to my previous message about the new Chabela's Bar & Grill. Signs posted in their storefront windows advertising that they're hiring have an interesting component: a logo. And by 'interesting', I mean unimaginative and possibly trademark/copyright infringement. Take a look at my photo of their window posting attached, and then take a look…

It's certainly not the first time we've posted about thieves poaching Amazon Fresh deliveries from people's porches here in Wallingford (and, we receive more reports than we publish), but this is the first break in the case we've heard. Joshua writes: I live on Meridian Ave between 38th and 39th.  Today, upon returning home from lunch, I noticed someone leaving my drive way with an AmazonFresh bag (there was no AmazonFresh truck parked in front of my house). This past Wednesday, the School Board was going to vote on a short term capacity plan to alleviate the overcrowding at Hamilton and Eckstein. That vote, however, has been delayed until next week, when they'll have enrollment projections for next year. City Grown Land Search 2013

Mowing the lawn is so 2012. Weeding is a drag. Planting massive beds of peonies just to have flocks of feral chickens peck them to a purple pulp is beyond depressing. So what do you do? Think outside the garden box and ponder a partnership with City Grown, our urban farming wonder friends. City Grown is looking for new places to grow food, and their Land Partners pretty much have it made: a share of the fresh produce grown each season,…
