On the morning of May 21st 2018, at approximately 10:00 AM, my wife called to let me know that the garage of our house near 43rd and Meridian was open unexpectedly. Upon investigation, she saw that my bicycle was missing. This bicycle was a dark green 2013 Kona Rove 59cm bike, equipped with panniers, lock, rack, kickstand, rechargeable lights, and reflectors. Normally it is mounted in the garage. Nothing else in the garage appears to be missing.
I’m under no delusion that I’m likely to ever see this bike again, but if you happen to see a bike matching this description, please let me know. I’ve filed a police report.
Here’s a picture for reference.
I’ll keep an eye out. It’s pretty distinctive. If you have the patience for this kind of thing – keep an eye on craigslist and backpage, and even consider taking a walk along the Northside of the canal at Fremont. One of the biggest gathering places for stolen bikes is around some benches halfway to ballard – you can see if you spot your bike and then call a cop. Don’t engage with the dudes there. There are a few such spots, Gasworks Park too.
