April 29, 1945, PFC Frank Burns, as a member of the 42nd “Rainbow” Infantry Division, participated in the liberation of the Dachau Nazi Concentration Camp — the first Concentration Camp erected and the model for all other Nazi SS Concentration Camps.
In remembering this day the Holocaust, we honor all those who suffered and who lost their lives; all those – citizens and liberators alike — who risked their lives to save others, and we gain understanding of the need today to prevent the suffering caused when intolerance and hatred are allowed to flourish.
