I’m currently participating in City Fruit’s Master Fruit Tree Steward program, and part of the program involves partnering with a fruit tree owner in the community. As part of this partnership, I will prune your fruit tree, test the soil around the tree, and answer and general questions/concerns you have once a month over the next 5 months.
Before my next class on January 13th, I simply need to meet with you, snap a few photos of your tree and ask you some questions about your tree.
Would anyone be interested in partnering with me?
Thanks for reading!
Greetings and have happy and a fruitful New Year, I live in downtown Wallingford, have a lot of overgrown fruit trees with some not producing, some producing a lot and all needing pruning which I am overwhelmed with, so would love any type of help.
We have an out of control European plum tree. It’s supposed to grow to 10′, but is taller than that. If you’d like to have a go at taming it, it would be fun to see the result!
I’m on 2nd Ave NE, south of 45th. I have two small pear trees that have a little bit of “cedar rust” on them, which worries me some. I’d like to get rid of it before it takes over.
I have a Hollywood plum which mostly does fine except that many years some people come with a truck and ladder and steal all my plums! Seriously. My husband caught them once and my neighbor saw them another time. When all my plums suddenly disappear, even from the highest parts of the tree, (as they do many years) I pretty much know what has happened. Very frustrating.
My last fruit tree is a Weeping Santa Rosa plum gives superb fruit, (but not much of it), which is gorgeous in the spring and which sometimes is also attacked by the plum thieves.
Let me know if you want to meet my trees.
Thanks for being willing to help! I only need to partner with one person for the purposes of my assignments in this program, but I would definitely be willing to meet with all of you once I’m a “master” in May!
Nancy – I don’t see a way to send direct messages through Wallyhood, but would you be able to meet sometime in the next few days? I’d like to meet during the day so I can get a few good photos of your trees. Friday afternoon, or anytime Saturday or Sunday are great for me. My number is 206-550-8603, feel free to text me to figure out logistics further.
