Today around 4:30pm I answered a knock on my door and found a young man standing there with a large “Amnesty International” identification tag around his neck. He was obviously going to ask for a donation. Since we have a “No Solicitors” sign posted prominently on our door, I said “NO”, shut the door and immediately emailed a complaint to Amnesty International in Seattle. I received a prompt return email from Don Crevie <[email protected]>, who told me “Amnesty International does not solicit door-to-door. You were the victim of an attempted scam.”
The scammer was caucasian, probably late 20’s, slim, maybe 5’10”, and had short hair which was light colored (not brunette). This guy is stealing from a good organization and from everyone who gives him money. Maybe someone can turn him in.
Maybe you should grant him amnesty.
