Bridge Closures

Jordan Jordan March 20, 2009 Comments are off

Should you be thinking of biking or walking home after an evening of carousing in Eastlake come April, think twice:

SEATTLE- SDOT’s contractor who is painting the University Bridge will need full bridge closures on at least three consecutive weekends in April. The contractor will close the bridge to all traffic (motor vehicles, bicycles and pedestrians) from midnight Friday to 6 a.m. Saturday, and from midnight Saturday to 6 a.m. Sunday, on the weekends of April 11 -12, April 18 – 19, and April 25 – 26. Alternate bridges over the ship canal include the Montlake Bridge, the I- 5 Ship Canal Bridge, the Aurora Bridge, and the Fremont Bridge.

The contractor continues to work on alternating sides of the bridge from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on weekdays.

For more information about the project, please see SDOT’s Website at http://www.seattle.gov/transportation/universitybridge_painting.htm

Swim for it!
