We’ve noticed that people have been using the comments section to start conversations. It seems a shame that neighbors would have to wait for some relevant post here to start a conversation with their neighbors, so today we’re proudly introducing Wallyhood Forums, discussion areas where Wallingford residents (and Friends of Wallingfords) can chat and get to know eachother.

Go ahead, click on the Forums links in the navbar at the top and sign in. We’ve designated areas for general conversation, gardening, give-aways, politics and parenting. We’ll see what gets used and what doesn’t and make adjustments as we go. If you’ve got a suggestion, we’re listening.

Discuss.

I started Wallyhood back in 2008, right when my son was born, because I realized I had lived in the neighborhood since 1993 and didn't really know my neighbors. I figured writing a blog about what was going on around me would be a good way to meet people and help other people do the same. As the years progressed, those neighbors have picked up the torch and it is now a group effort, which I adore. I moved out of Wallingford for a few years (2020 - 2025), but I'm back, now living with my wife, son and dog (Dillinger) up in Tangletown.

I am interested in doing vocals with a band or acoustic duo etc.-I trained with Lois White and I have never performed outside of choirs-I really want to! I can sing rock, blues, country, indie-pretty versatile and need practice and confidence-have the desire and will make time.
