Plant Sale and Bike Rodeo Reminder

Reminder: Plant sale this morning, Saturday, from 10 am – 1 pm at the John Stanford School. Details in the earlier Plant Sale Reprieve post.

Also at the John Stanford School this morning from 10 am – noon is a Bike Rodeo, including helment fittings and safety training for youngins.

Bike Rodeo safety training will be essential for anyone planning to take their kids on next week’s Kidical Mass ride (because, as we know from reading the comments section of that post, it will involve goth-suited 8-year-olds on tricycles hijacking 18-wheelers of bio-diesel fuel, a la Road Warrior).

I started Wallyhood back in 2008, right when my son was born, because I realized I had lived in the neighborhood since 1993 and didn't really know my neighbors. I figured writing a blog about what was going on around me would be a good way to meet people and help other people do the same. As the years progressed, those neighbors have picked up the torch and it is now a group effort, which I adore.
