Pillowman

My Green Lake reminds us there’s free theater to be had in the neighborhood. The Bathhouse theater is showing, for one weekend only (this weekend), The Pillowman:

The newly minted Bathhouse Ensemble, a collective of young theater artists dedicated to independent, risky and entertaining work, present their inaugural production, the Tony-nominated The Pillowman, by award-winning Irish playwright Martin McDonagh, June 26th-27th at the historic Bathhouse Theater on Green Lake.

McDonagh’s The Pillowman is a dark, twisted look at the role of the storyteller in society, and what occurs when stories spread beyond the original teller. In a world obsessed with blame and shifting obligations, where do we place responsibility when someone goes too far?

Where indeed?

Performances are Friday, June 26 at 7:30pm; Saturday, June 27th at 2pm & 7:30pm and Sunday June 28th at 2pm.   There is no charge for admission,  however a suggested donation of $5/student or $7/adult would be appreciated.

I started Wallyhood back in 2008, right when my son was born, because I realized I had lived in the neighborhood since 1993 and didn't really know my neighbors. I figured writing a blog about what was going on around me would be a good way to meet people and help other people do the same. As the years progressed, those neighbors have picked up the torch and it is now a group effort, which I adore. I moved out of Wallingford for a few years (2020 - 2025), but I'm back, now living with my wife, son and dog (Dillinger) up in Tangletown.
