Seattle Peace Concerts

Jordan Jordan June 10, 2009 Comments are off

Ellen reminded us that the Seattle Peace Concerts (“Rockin’ the Pacific Northwest since 1981”) are kicking off this Sunday, June 14th with a concert from noon to 6 pm at Lower Woodland Park Shelter 1. The line-up includes (in reverse order of appearance) Tangletown String Band, Don Glenn, Sourmash Stevedores, Lost River String Band, Baxter T Bleu, and Percy Hilo.

The shows are all free, but attendees are encouraged to bring donations for the Northwest Harvest food bank. If you’re interested in the full line-up (there are six concerts throughout the summer), check out the Seattle Peace Concerts web site, although we caution those easily disturbed by old school web design to proceed with caution. Also, not all the shows are booked, so if you’ve got a band, this could be your big break.

If not, there’s still reason to rejoice, for, as Ellen notes, “nothing cures a hangover like lying on a blanket listening to music with a bunch of hippies.”
