City Attorney Pete Holmes at Gas Works

  • Post author:

The press release we got says that City Attorney candidate Pete Holmes will be at Gas Works Park Tuesday at 2:30 pm, campaigning:

City Attorney candidate Pete Holmes will announce his plan for a city law department that is more responsive to environmental organizations and citizens. He will discuss his plan for clean air, clean water, and healthy neighborhoods. Representatives of environmental organizations who support Pete will attend the event. Please join us.

If the weather is too rainy, we will move the announcement a block away to Palazzo cafe,  1906 N 34th St.

I started Wallyhood back in 2008, right when my son was born, because I realized I had lived in the neighborhood since 1993 and didn't really know my neighbors. I figured writing a blog about what was going on around me would be a good way to meet people and help other people do the same. As the years progressed, those neighbors have picked up the torch and it is now a group effort, which I adore. I moved out of Wallingford for a few years (2020 - 2025), but I'm back, now living with my wife, son and dog (Dillinger) up in Tangletown.

Palazzo? You’re kidding, right? Palazzo is a tiny coffee place with counter seating for maybe 6 at most. Also, the place closes between 2 & 3pm every day, depending on how business has been throughout the day. Coffee, no room.

I hope Holmes called ahead & made some sort of arrangement with Palazzo. Otherwise, they should probably head off to Essential Baking or Solsticio (new, at 34th & Stone Way, on the Fremont side of the street) where there are at least some tables and the business is open til evening time…
