Stone Soup Theatre, the one-act theater company on Stone Way, has a new production opening:

A Child’s Christmas in Wales
Adapted from the story by Dylan Thomas
Directed by Kalon Thibodeaux

One of the most enduring, yet often forgotten Christmas memoirs, Dylan Thomas’s A Child’s Christmas in Wales comes to life at Stone Soup Theatre, recreating the nostalgic magic of Dylan Thomas’ childhood Christmas when everything was brighter, better and more alive. Dylan comes to realize, however, the experience of Christmas doesn’t change with time, but holds a place in our hearts nothing else can fill. Performers include our youth conservatory students and professional adult actors. Come watch Dylan recreate Christmas at Stone Soup with live classic Welsh instrumentation and vocals that bring us right back in time.

The production runs December 4th – 24th, Fri-Sun as well as Wed the 23rd and Thurs the 24th. Evening showtimes are 7:30 pm, while Sunday matinees are at 2:00pm. Ticket prices are $16 for a single ticket and $14 apiece for a group of 4 or more.

Tickets are available for purchase at www.brownpapertickets.com, 800-838-3006 or the Stone Soup Box Office (206) 633-1883; www.stonesouptheatre.org.

I started Wallyhood back in 2008, right when my son was born, because I realized I had lived in the neighborhood since 1993 and didn't really know my neighbors. I figured writing a blog about what was going on around me would be a good way to meet people and help other people do the same. As the years progressed, those neighbors have picked up the torch and it is now a group effort, which I adore. I moved out of Wallingford for a few years (2020 - 2025), but I'm back, now living with my wife, son and dog (Dillinger) up in Tangletown.
