Neighboring ‘Hoods Roundup

Erin Leach-Kemon April 19, 2010 1 Comment

Wondering about the goings-on outside of Wallingford last week? Here’s a roundup of some of the highlights from our neighbor blogs:

Middle schooler speaks out against violence, YouTube-style: If you haven’t already, check out this 7th grader’s wonderfully creative video, which features random passersby around Green Lake and criticizes violent protests that have erupted in light of the recent health care reform. We really can learn from the children!

“$1,500 reward for lost E. Union pit bull puppy leads to armed robbery”: Wow…it’s not every day you see a headline like that. CHS Blog has the scoop. We hope Honey gets home safe!

LED streetlight replacement coming soon: According to Fremont Universe, Seattle City Light will soon install LED lights on neighborhood streets throughout Fremont, U-District, Ballard, Eastlake, South Greenlake and plan to continue these installations throughout the city over a period of five years.

Greenwood nurse travels to Haiti: PhinneyWood reports that Annika Hoogestraat, a Greenwood resident and ICU nurse at Seattle Children’s Hospital flew to Haiti last week with a medical team to aid in post-earthquake relief. Safe travels, everyone.

Eastlake’s Making Headlines: Eastlake and its community found themselves recognized in local news sources this month, including Seattle Magazine and The Seattle Times.

streetlight replacement – Fremont, U-District, Ballard, Eastlake, South Greenlake. Looks like a perfect circle around Wallingford. Do we know why Wallingford wasn’t part of it?
