Shake, Rattle and Roll at Izilla Toys

  • Post author:

After a soggy opening day of the Wallingford Farmer’s Market back in May our family ran for shelter inside the Wallingford Center to warm up with board games and free pizza at Izilla Toys‘ Family Game Night.  Their next Family Game night will be Wednesday, July 21st (again, during the Farmers Market) from 5-7 PM.

Here’s what we found:  Folks gathered around several tables reading instructions, shuffling cards and sorting game pieces.  There was a great assortment – here are some I noticed:

  • Tiki Topple
  • Telepathy (created by a local company called FunHub Creative)
  • Catch the Match
  • Quiddler
  • Cir Kis
  • Bananagrams (a classic)
  • Yam Slam
  • Can You See What I See?
  • Hisss
  • Poison

To help you choose, the games are clearly labeled with age range and description.

We ran into Jen, the proprietor of Izilla, who said this was the Wallingford location’s first Family Game Night and they are trying a schedule of every six weeks alternating with the Capitol Hill store.

We grabbed some Pudge Brothers slices and drinks and settled in at a table with Jen and her delightful daughter Mira for a Bananagrams, followed by Yam Slam (a version of Yahtzee).  Let the games begin!

P.S.  Mention your Market purchases that day for 10% off.  Also the weekend before, the 17th and 18th, Izilla is having their 8th Anniversary Sale with 20% off everything.
