Wallingford Trivia Night and Open Mic

Jordan Jordan September 29, 2010 6 Comments

We know there are trivia nights going on all over Wallingford: Kate’s, Grizzled Wizard, Moon Temple, Murphy’s and more. We’d like to create a round-up, compare the types of questions or something fun like that, but we don’t know the details. If you organize a trivia night in Wallingford, or know who does, please drop us a line with some details and contact info.

Oh, same thing with open mic nights.

Could it be that all this talk of wading pools and preschools has alienated the bars and booze set? Say it ain’t so!

Hey there, I went to a trivia night at Murphy’s many moons ago and recall it being quite challenging…but I didn’t like the idea of elliott just hanging here by himself…I’d love to hear more bout trivia nights and open mics as well.

I don’t organize any trivia nights, but have been to a few in the ‘hood. I like Iron Bull because it’s not insanely hard, and the host, Ryan, generally avoids sports trivia. Also, Ryan at one point promised to simulate a wrestling match with a bear, though I’m still holding my breath on that one.

It’s been a long time since I went to trivia at Murphy’s, but I do remember their tie-breakers to be extra hilarious (e.g., dance-offs). I also remember thinking it cost more than usual to enter. I think it’s pay-by-the-round.

I went a few times to trivia at the Fremont Dock. It was decent, and started early enuogh for a week night, but I’m not a huge fan of the food there. Also, it’s further from my house, which in lazyland is a big strike.

The Moon Temple hosts bar trivia every Sunday night at 8:00

The Moon Temple Trivia is the best one I’ve been too thus far. They guys who host aren’t trying to be comedians or anything (although they’re funnier than most trivia hosts) and their questions are challenging and fun. Highly reccommended.
