Julia Cascioppo, Abroad

Jordan Jordan October 18, 2010 Comments are off

Normally, we would have passed on this story. Sure, chanteuse Julia Cascioppio lives right here in Wallingford, but her farewell show before leaves for “holiday enagagements in Mauritius” is across town on Capitol Hill.

But then, she sent us this awesome picture:

How’d you like to be traveling across the world in India and see a gigantic billboard of someone who lives down the street from you?

So OK, wish her well and head over to Travelers, 501 E. Pine St this Tuesday Oct 19th 7 PM – 8: 30 pm to check her out:

JULIE CASCIOPPO, SEATTLE’S ORIGINAL JAZZ CABARET SINGER, INVITES YOU ON A SUB-CONTINENTAL ODYSSEY.

Enjoy Julie’s PLEASANTLY “spicy” new sequel of: I Love Being Abroad, Julie does India with a French Twist!  Guitar accompaniment by Michael Powers!

Jazz tunes and Indian retro favorites with a French twist to quicken the blood between anecdotes of bizarre experiences during her recent six month engagement as a “jazz singer” in India, dodging the dangers arising from intrigues and unlikely relationships in the most severely exciting city on earth: BOMBAY, or, as some call it, MUMBAI! Featuring such touching experiences as:

  • Teaching Jazz to the orphansFalling in love with stray dogs in the hotel’s vicinity
  • Sterilizing said dogs
  • Making friends with ex-patriot ladies who lunch
  • Auditioning jazz musicians for the gig.
  • Adventures with wannabe-boyfriend cab drivers.

$10.00 Donation, or sliding scale for economically disadvantaged. Call for reservations: 206-329-6260
