Winter in the Garden with Tilth

Helen October 29, 2010 Comments are off

Garden looking tired and needing to be put to bed?  Tilth can help you get its jammies on and tucked under the covers:

Putting the Garden to Bed; Nov. 6, 10 AM- Noon

Fall is a fantastic time to replenish the soil that has offered you its bounty all year long.  Find out how you can maximize this important time of the year and jump start your garden next spring.

What about making use of all that rain that’s coming soon?  Why not learn how to collect and use it?:

Harvesting the Rain; Nov 20, 10 AM-Noon

This class is an overview of the many ways that rain may be stored for use in your vegetable or ornamental home garden – just in time for the rainy season!

Finally, spread the love along with the compost by helping to winterize the Seattle Youth Garden Works Farm used to train homeless and at-risk youth in urban agriculture.  Tomorrow!:

Final Work Party at the Seattle Youth Garden Works Farm; Sat., Oct. 30, 10 AM-2 PM

Help prepare this special urban farm for winter by composting, mulching and planting cover crop.  It’s next to one of the best bird watching sites in the city!
