Food Bank Gourmet

Jordan Jordan March 7, 2011 1 Comment

When chefs Rachel Yang of Joule or Amy McRay of Eva cook, you can imagine they have a pretty well-stocked pantry to work with. Imagine, though, that these two cooking experts were limited to food you’d find in a food bank. We’d say it’s doubtful you’d find “Hawaiian prawn stone pot with saffron rice” or “Grilled Northwest Beef ‘Petit Tender’ Steak with a Sauté of Roasted Potato, Red Onion, and Winter Vegetables & a Feta, Smoked Paprika and Almond Salts” on the menu.

Want to know what would be on the menu? Get your ticket now for Food Bank Gourmet, when celebrity chef Kathy Casey hosts these two for

an interactive cooking demonstration as they create dishes with items typically found in the FamilyWorks Food Bank. Ticket holders will have the chance to tour FamilyWorks, enjoy wine tasting by Sozo Planet, and snack on appetizers while watching our local chefs in action.

Recipes will be given to the attendees and shared with food bank customers.

The event is on Sunday, March 27th at 4 pm. Ticket price are $25 per person, order online now. Proceeds benefits FamilyWorks, naturally.
