We have a metal door like that one in our hosue separating the basement from the garage. I imagine is is some kind of fire door.
We had one, too, between the garage and basement. Also had a small one (more like a window) that was the “coal” door, used with the original coal furnace.
That door would make a great table! I wonder if it’s being thrown away . . .
