5th of July Gas Works Cleanup

Madi June 24, 2011 Comments are off

Last year, all the good trash was gone2010 5th of July cleanup complimentary travel mug by the time I got to the Starbucks 5th of July Cleanup at Gas Works Park. In response to the huge 2010 turnout, this year boasts three check in points: Gas Works Park, the Center for Wooden Boats at South Lake Union, and Rogers Playfield in Eastlake) so hopefully trash enough for everyone. I’d still recommend checking in at 9am to ensure you don’t get stuck with a choice of extra-venti or extra-extra-venti for your t-shirt and everyone in your party gets his/her own trash picker.

Check-in and snacking begins: 9 a.m.
Neighborhood cleanup: 10:00 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Lunch: 1:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.

I’m hoping the VIA Ready Brew marketing push has waned and this year will see real coffee, but don’t say I didn’t warn you if you have to enjoy your complimentary pastries with instant.

Pictured is last year’s free recycled material travel mug. Yep: t-shirt, mug, pastries, snacks, lunch, coffee, water.
