What’s that smell? Breakfast…

Mary February 24, 2012 Comments are off

Let’s talk UTILITY SAFETY, specifically natural gas. Ever wonder what you should do if you smell natural gas or how to turn off your gas in case of a leak, fire, or major earthquake? Aging appliances, corroded pipes, and aging infrastructure can be the cause of fire or explosion in your home or neighborhood. North Seattle experienced an explosion in September 2011 and gas fires have caused widespread damage in many cities after a major earthquake.

The Wallingford Community Preparedness Committee is hosting another preparedness potluck breakfast on Saturday February 25th, 9:00-11:00, at the Wallingford Community Senior Center, lower level of the Good Shepherd Center. Potluck breakfast starts at 8:30, bring a dish and get to know your neighbors to boot.

Puget Sound Energy’s public education representative, Glenn Huden, will be on hand to give us helpful information and who to call and how to react if you smell gas or experience a utility related emergency. For more information contact [email protected]
