Hey folks, do you ever find yourself waiting for neighbors to walk by your house so you could shout something at them like “hey, do you know anyone that’s renting a house out?” or “Wanna buy my table?”

This is just your friendly reminder that in addition to this article-a-day blog, Wallyhood has Forums, where you can chat about whatever you like. Here’s a sampling of some recent conversations and posts:

If you read Wallyhood as a “email newsletter”, you won’t get notifications when there are new posts there, so go ahead and bookmark it (or “favorite” it, for you IE users).

I started Wallyhood back in 2008, right when my son was born, because I realized I had lived in the neighborhood since 1993 and didn't really know my neighbors. I figured writing a blog about what was going on around me would be a good way to meet people and help other people do the same. As the years progressed, those neighbors have picked up the torch and it is now a group effort, which I adore. I moved out of Wallingford for a few years (2020 - 2025), but I'm back, now living with my wife, son and dog (Dillinger) up in Tangletown.

I’d just like to say that I appreciate this very informative blog and its contributors.

I have very recently been involved in a dog abuse situation on Burke Ave. N. and found the neighbors to be helpful and concerned. I live in Wallingford and I’m also a volunteer at the Seattle Animal Shelter. Fortunately, with the help of neighbors and SAS, the poor dog was rescued today, taken to a vet, and will be up for adoption to a deserving family soon.
