Power out in Wallingford

Jordan Jordan April 13, 2013 4 Comments

Power went out in Wallingford around 5:45. According to Twitter reports, it’s out at least from I-5 to Wallingford Ave, 50th Street to 37th Street. The Seattle City Light status page doesn’t list this area as out yet, so no status on when it will come back on.

There was a loud explosion on the power station around 4th ave between Pacific and Northlake about 15 minutes before the power went out. Loud bang and a flash of light. Something exploded.

City Light site says the outage was caused by a lightning strike damaging equipment at the University Substation.
