Festival of Hope

Scanned DocumentLisa from the Keystone United Church of Christ (“an open & affirming, justice centered community”) writes:

Join us for Seattle’s oldest Alternative Christmas Fair that raises money exclusively for organizations which serve the homeless.

Now in its 35th year, this is a non-profit event – all money raised goes directly to programs that relieve poverty, hunger and homelessness. Come and enjoy:

  • Vintage treasures and books
  • Quality crafts, gifts and decorations from home and around the world
  • Children’s clothing, games and toys
  • Homemade deli lunch, fresh baked pies and goods
  • Handmade Quilt raffle

Come visit, shop, enjoy a tasty lunch, and enjoy a compassion-filled pre-Christmas Bazaar in the company of others who wish to celebrate a vision of Hope for our world!

The fair runs this Saturday 10 am – 4 pm and Sunday noon to 3 pm at the Keystone UCC  (5019 Keystone Place N).

I started Wallyhood back in 2008, right when my son was born, because I realized I had lived in the neighborhood since 1993 and didn't really know my neighbors. I figured writing a blog about what was going on around me would be a good way to meet people and help other people do the same. As the years progressed, those neighbors have picked up the torch and it is now a group effort, which I adore. I moved out of Wallingford for a few years (2020 - 2025), but I'm back, now living with my wife, son and dog (Dillinger) up in Tangletown.
