I am with the Seattle Police Pipes and Drums.  We are having a social this Saturday at Murphy’s Pub from 6pm to 9pm.  The Seattle Police Pipes and Drums is an all volunteer group made up of Seattle Police Officers. While most know us for playing at funerals for the brave men and women who have given the ultimate, we are also dedicated to strengthening and maintaining a positive relationship with the citizens of Seattle.  In the past we have had our socials downtown, this time we wanted to bring it to North Seattle.  This event is not a formal event, and is a relaxed atmosphere to have a drink and listen to some live bagpipe music. We encourage the neighborhood to stop by and enjoy.

I started Wallyhood back in 2008, right when my son was born, because I realized I had lived in the neighborhood since 1993 and didn't really know my neighbors. I figured writing a blog about what was going on around me would be a good way to meet people and help other people do the same. As the years progressed, those neighbors have picked up the torch and it is now a group effort, which I adore. I moved out of Wallingford for a few years (2020 - 2025), but I'm back, now living with my wife, son and dog (Dillinger) up in Tangletown.

Yes! We loved seeing these guys in Fremont on 9-11. Now they’re coming right here, to our own back yard! Too bad Murphy’s isn’t dog friendly, but I’m pretty sure we can still enjoy them from the sidewalk. :~)

That is a remarkable poster. Who designed it? I am crazy for it. Who what where when and why wrapped in classic graphic mode with a nod to vintage silkscreens. Hope the event went swell.

MaryW–the dog can’t stay home for three hours?
