Reminder: Pre-Meal Appetite Stimulant

Reminder: All our welcome to come to the John Stanford School lower playground today (Thanksgiving!), starting around 2 pm (or earlier, if you like) for some neighborhood games. Feel free to bring a spirit or snack to share (I heard a rumor of a hot toddy), or a ball to play with, or just yourselves and we’ll try to run around a little bit before we all go home to our meals. Please leave a comment if you have a kickball we can use, otherwise I’ll shoot over to a store to pick one up before I come.

Fun times!

In other Thanksgiving news, we found out Kate’s Pub will also be open today, 8 am – 2 pm and Al’s Tavern opens at 8 pm.

I started Wallyhood back in 2008, right when my son was born, because I realized I had lived in the neighborhood since 1993 and didn't really know my neighbors. I figured writing a blog about what was going on around me would be a good way to meet people and help other people do the same. As the years progressed, those neighbors have picked up the torch and it is now a group effort, which I adore. I moved out of Wallingford for a few years (2020 - 2025), but I'm back, now living with my wife, son and dog (Dillinger) up in Tangletown.
