www_wallingfordseniors_org_attachments_File_CelebrateOneWallingford2013_pdfThis Thursday, Dec 12 from 5:30 – 8 pm, you’re invited to a community holiday party, Celebrate One Wallingford, hosted at the Wallingford Community Senior Center (in the Good Shepherd Center, 4649 Sunnyside Ave N):

Gather with neighbors and friends at this friendly, easy event for all ages. All are welcome to come and enjoy:

  • Sweet and savory finger foods
  • Cookie decorating
  • Music making
  • Crafts for kids
  • And more!

Kathleen Cromp, WSCS adds:

This party, now in its third year, is our a way to say thank you to all, and to ‘build community across generations’. We’d like to encourage folks to come with instruments and voices to make music together……all-ages and levels of musical acumen welcome! We have a piano.

Which reminds me: does anyone go caroling anymore? Wandering around the neighborhood singing seems like such a fine idea!

I started Wallyhood back in 2008, right when my son was born, because I realized I had lived in the neighborhood since 1993 and didn't really know my neighbors. I figured writing a blog about what was going on around me would be a good way to meet people and help other people do the same. As the years progressed, those neighbors have picked up the torch and it is now a group effort, which I adore. I moved out of Wallingford for a few years (2020 - 2025), but I'm back, now living with my wife, son and dog (Dillinger) up in Tangletown.

How about a planned time event day when people carol in front of the shopping center?
