HARRY AND THE HENDERSONS
Filmed in Seattle and featuring the homes at 4214 Burke and 4210 Burke!

Bigfoot comes to Wallingford ! – to 4214 Burke Ave North to be exact – in this 1987 fantasy-comedy with John Lithgow, Don Ameche, Lanie Kazan and others when the Henderson family vehicle accidentally hits Sasquatch on the way home from a family camping trip. George Henderson brings the body home strapped to the roof of the car, only later to discover that Bigfoot, that is “Harry”, is not dead at all. Harry walks into the urban environment and one bigfoot ahead of the malintentions of a top-notch game hunter who wants to bag him. Not critically acclaimed, this film has since developed a cult-following of fans and won an Academy-Award for Best Make-Up.

Come identify our nearby Wallingford streets and homes, and watch for Harry! A map (from online) of Wallingford and Seattle locations will be available at viewing.

I started Wallyhood back in 2008, right when my son was born, because I realized I had lived in the neighborhood since 1993 and didn't really know my neighbors. I figured writing a blog about what was going on around me would be a good way to meet people and help other people do the same. As the years progressed, those neighbors have picked up the torch and it is now a group effort, which I adore. I moved out of Wallingford for a few years (2020 - 2025), but I'm back, now living with my wife, son and dog (Dillinger) up in Tangletown.
