Tracy Marcella sent in this announcement of a new pop-up pastry and juice bar operating out of Satay (1711 N 45th St) on Saturdays:

Marcella’s Juice and Pastry will be open weekend mornings at Satay in Wallingford from 8:00-11:00 A.M.

Beginning this Saturday, March 22nd, Marcella’s will be serving up a small variety of organic, made-to-order juices alongside a rotating selection of artisan breakfast pastries. Pastries will be baked daily by precise hands. Croissants, bacon-cheddar scones, and cinnamon brioche rolls are just a few of the fresh baked goods that will be available.

Marcella’s will be helmed by Tracy Marcella a transplant to Seattle, who fell in love with the city’s vibrant food scene upon arrival four years ago. Tracy had enjoyed baking since childhood but her obsession was sparked with the French macaron on a trip to West Seattle’s Bakery Nouveau. During the following months she spent mastering this temperamental cookie she realized that baking was a real passion of hers. After dabbling in restaurant jobs, she will now be leaving her title as breakfast chef at Seattle’s Chelsea Station Inn, in order to pursue this dream. As a runner, Tracy fell in love with juices years ago at Seattle’s own Juicebox. She values the health benefits of fresh juice as well as the creativity involved in finding delicious flavor pairings. You can look forward to trying her French macarons of which there will be one rotating flavor.

So exciting! 45th needs a great bakery so bad. I have dreams of Macrina taking over the old Babalu space. Sigh…

I agree — we need a bakery or two in Wallingford! In fact, I tried to
get the owner of Fuji bakery to come to our neighborhood when he was
looking for new space. Unfortunately, he ended up down on Elliot.
