Porch Dog

Lynn sent this in yesterday:

I just saw a medium-size, Lab-looking black dog with a red collar running without a human companion along Burke Ave. N between 35th and 36thstreets. He was sitting on my porch furniture but took off before I could get any tag information.

This evening a black lab mix dog started resting on our porch. It is medium sized, has a red collar, and is skittish and may have a limp. We have provided some food and water but can’t get close enough to see if there are any tags (it runs off as soon as we come outside but then returns and is hunkering down for the night). Attached are two photos. We are at the corner of 38th St and Carr Pl.

Sounds like the same dog, yes?

I started Wallyhood back in 2008, right when my son was born, because I realized I had lived in the neighborhood since 1993 and didn't really know my neighbors. I figured writing a blog about what was going on around me would be a good way to meet people and help other people do the same. As the years progressed, those neighbors have picked up the torch and it is now a group effort, which I adore. I moved out of Wallingford for a few years (2020 - 2025), but I'm back, now living with my wife, son and dog (Dillinger) up in Tangletown.

This could be our dog (we put those signs up in Fremont). Her name is Danielle. She was a recent rescue, so she’s been chipped but we didn’t get the chance to get her tags. Can you email me ([email protected]) with more info?

I suggest contacting Seattle Animal Control regarding borrowing a humane trap (206) 386-PETS.

Our neighbors just saw this dog on their yard, on Woodlawn Ave N between 39th and 40th.

She’s been recovered. Thanks all for your help!
