20120822dsc1281tonejpgped2If you’re looking for something a bit more upscale than the rowdy SeaMonster to Murphy’s circuit this Cinco de Mayo, check in at Cantinetta. While this Wallingford gem usually specializes in Tuscan fare, guest chef Gabriel Chavez will join Cantinetta’s Executive Chef Emran Chowdhury to deliver “their masterpiece over a 5 course authentic Mexican cuisine paired with authentic craft drinks, beer and sangria.”

The prix fixe menu includes Ceviche de mojarra, Tacos de tinga de pollo con queso fresco, Tacos de carnitas de Puerco con ensalada de repollo y salsa verde, Tacos de carne desebrada de res y tomatesadados con salsa de aguacate, churros and optional drink pairings throughout.

There are two seatings, one at 6 pm and one at 8 pm, purchase tickets online.

I started Wallyhood back in 2008, right when my son was born, because I realized I had lived in the neighborhood since 1993 and didn't really know my neighbors. I figured writing a blog about what was going on around me would be a good way to meet people and help other people do the same. As the years progressed, those neighbors have picked up the torch and it is now a group effort, which I adore. I moved out of Wallingford for a few years (2020 - 2025), but I'm back, now living with my wife, son and dog (Dillinger) up in Tangletown.
